Bible Cross References
Chris Harrison, an associate professor at Carnegie Mellon University, partnered with Christoph Römhild in 2007 to create this extraordinary graphic showing cross references in the Bible. Alternating sets of dark and light gray lines along the bottom represent books and chapters sized by length. Arched lines show connections between chapters, colored by the canonical distance. The longest line connects Genesis to Revelation while all lines display the deep interconnectedness of the scriptures. This graphic is perhaps the most recognizable and influential piece of modern data-driven art about the Bible.
